I have applied for the citizenship of Canada along with my son (9 yr old). I passed the test & now waiting for the oath. Meanwhile we came to India & I took school admission for my son in India. He is studying in India.
Now my question is, when I have to come to Canada for oath, is it require to bring my son with me? I don’t want to disturb his schooling. Can I attend alone ? Can we get his formalities get done from India itself?
Secondly, how much time it takes to get Canadian passport after that?

Please see the http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizen/ceremony-info.html

Children under the age of 14 are not required to attend the Oath Ceremony.

Once you get the citizenship card and apply for the passport you can get it in mail with in 2 weeks.

2. Secondly, how much time it takes to get Canadian passport after that?
3. my friend & me appeared for written test together in Dec., 2005 (through regional assistance). My friend got a date for oath on 21st July,2006 , but I didn't receive any letter for oath. why it can be?

Which formalities you are talking about. If it is for Oath, you do not need to take your child with you. If you need to get his passport made while he is in India, then please follow these links.

The time line in Canada is around 2 weeks. In India it could be different and you can contact the Canadian Consulate office in India to find out the time line.

You could be getting the letter for Oath in near future or it could take a couple of months time. It all depends on the number of applicants and also how fast your RCMP clearance is received by the Citizenship Canada.

I hope you will get answers to all your questions by following links pasted above and in my earlier post.
