Land in toronto and take a bus to montreal and join your job ...

We will find a way or we will make one
While you can technically land anywhere(despite what you stated on your application), landing in Quebec complicates matters in many ways. So I feel it is in your best interest to do what Smiley says.
Last minute bus tickets can be expensive as well. I think Greyhound charges something like 140 + taxes for a one way. Book a week in advance and it goes to less than 50 (+ taxes).
Another option is Coach Canada. I've heard the buses ar the same as Greyhound but the prices are less - around 100.
Something else to keep in mind - the amount of luggage allowed on the bus.
If it it only you, perhaps you could rent a car one way?
There is also the option of travelling by VIA train, or even a flight if you plan ahead.
My wife called the representative in immigration - Montreal and appraised them of our situation.
They advised that, we could land in Montreal without any problem, Rep also mentioned that, to avail the benefits (like gov sponsored program- French learning) we need to fill a form.
Hopefully she is right!!!. It will save me some time and money.
Thanks again for your support and advise.

Crisraj
