Publisher of the Canadian Immigrant Magazine provides
expert advice via International radio program

CBC International Show announced...

Vancouver, BC, October 17, 2006 — Naeem “Nick” Noorani, President and CEO of the Canadian Immigrant Magazine, will host a segment on a new radio program aimed at helping new immigrants. The Link will be broadcast on CBC Radio International beginning on October 30. The segment called “Ask Nick” will provide an opportunity for newcomers to ask “Nick” questions about coming to Canada. The program airs on Canada’s world service providing two hours of daily information designed to connect new immigrants to Canada and Canada to the world.

The program provides a new vista for Noorani, a Canadian Immigrant who has lived in Canada since 1998. “My mandate since launching the Canadian Immigrant Magazine has been to help educate, motivate and inform new comers about what life can be like living in this country. I am delighted to be working with CBC International to provide information to people living overseas who might be interested in migrating here. An immigration question period will prove very helpful.” The recent release of Arrival Survival Canada, second edition, the book he co-authored with his wife, Sabrina Noorani, is another resource that he will draw from during the question period segment.

The Link will provide need to know information on everything from immigrating to Canada to telling human-interest stories. According to show producer, Jessica Grillanda, “We hope to offer a distinctive, insightful and light-hearted package... tailored for our audience.” The show also features tips on how to find a job, immigrant business success stories, international movie reviews and panel discussions. It will be broadcast around the world on shortwave, and is available on Sirius satellite radio and on the web. It will soon be available via podcast.
