Income splitting on the cards?

Read this morning that the fed. govt is looking into income splitting for the couples. That means they can transfer to the less income earning spouse so that the tax would be reduced. This may not go well with the singles.

Yes it wont go well with singles.
But it will be huge benefit if only one member is earning in family. But it will also encourage woman to "not work" if husband's earning is high.

But, so what? This is something that works in US and other parts of the world, I guess . Why not in Canada?

It definitely is a good initiative. I hope it works out.
As long as Ottawa is good to loose some $5 Billions (as projected).
