Cd's
Just wanted share an observation and get your thoughts and answers.
I have 2 post office francises near my home . One is located inside the IDA Pharmacy and another inside a Dollar shop which is also owned by the owner. Every time i got to the shops I find that no one actually uses the post office. Even if someone uses it, it would be to buy 51/52 cents stamps for one local post. Many times, People just come to get their parcels as a result of a postal note left in their houses when they were not there.
Most of the guys, that i observed ( not only in the 2 shops but also in other francises) were cheerful but their face often reflects their poverty/ life. Even if they were to get 10 dollars an hour, they have to generate atleast $200 an hour worth of business which i donot belive that they will ever do.
So in this case, I am wondering if Canada post gives the francises a monthly fee to run them? I am aware that Canada post makes a lot of money as it delivers tons and tons of mails.
CD's , your views please.

Your observations might be right about the two locations. However, just visit a real estate broker and ask him that you are interested in buying out an existing franchise. YOu might be surprised to know that lack of availability as well as the prices quoted for ones which are available.......and that might tell you a lot.

Yes. It depends upon location. Just visit Canada Post outlet in Shoppers drug Mart in Westwood mall , you will find a quue of atleast 10 people in front of Post Office.
