I am also looking for some good mechanic in Mississauga area. coz these Canadian tire and others seems to charge for unnecessary and many times untimely repairs. also the full system diagnostics is bogus, ie they never do a detail check on ur car.

hello!
ya lemme know too about a good mechanic in Brampton/Sauga. I need to get an oil change and spark plug change
I've tried all mechanics from white/black/brown/blue at various locations and I've ended up at the Midas at the corner of Eglinton and Tomken. There is a guy named Brett who is the manager and Bobby is the owner. Till to date amazing service, they give you a ride, free coffee and all work as per the quotation.
This is right behind the Village of India and next to the Swiss Pizza Restaurant.
You could see a reference to them from the following link right at the bottom.

If anybody in the Mississauga area is looking for a good, honest, and reliable mechanic, head out to Tomken/Eglinton. There's a Midas there. Ask for Bobby. Guy really knows his sh*t and he's always honest with you. Even throws in free stuff, just cause.
First time:
Went in for an oil changed. Mentioned off the cuff that I might need my tires rotated, but I'll probably wait until next oil change. He nodded. I picked up my car a half hour later, noticed on the bill \"Tire Rotation - $0.00\".
It wasn't a part of the Oil, Lube, and Filter, and he just decided to do it for me.
Second time:
Told by Mazda that I needed my brakes done. Went to Bobby. He looked at em, after me telling him I need a brake job cause the front brakes were worn \"according to mazda\". He cracked the tire off, looked at the brake, said they were full of sh*t, put back on the tire, and told me I was fine. No charge.
When I went back to Mazda for my lease expiration, the brakes they said were worn, they never said a thing about. Criminals all of them. (Stay away from Erin Mills Mazda)
Now I refer everybody to Bobby.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
Thanks sanakaracharya for detailed response.
I checked on that website and that information is really useful.
But it is really difficult to find honest mechanic. I took my car to four different places and all gave me different reasons and suggestions.
First of all, Mainake mechanic told me that my car's power steering fluid has gone bad and it needs to change ASAP. So I told him that I might change it next time.
Then, I went to another mechanic and did oil change and when he checked transmission fluid he said that "transmission fluid needs to change otherwise you could have big problem" and I agreed. And I also asked him to check other fluids including Powersteering fluid. He told me that there is no need to change anything !!!! all are in good condition.
Thereafter, engine light is on in my car. So, I did computer diagnosis and it shows that Catalytic converter is underthresold. And that one I did at Canadian Tire. They told me that you can run for couple of months.
again other mechanic told me that you need to change in this week or your engine could be plugged.
Now, one of my friend checked my car and he said that all I need to do is tune up..
Still I am confuse and dont know what is the problem in my car.
I am sure that catalytic converter is not good in my car but on the other hand now engine light went off again.
any suggestion?

Try this guy - Bobby - at Midas. He's normally at 1116 Dundas St East - 905 270 7070 and his wife manages the Midas at Tomken/Eglinton.
I recently had my Chevy Venture repaired by Bobby. Only time will tell whether he did a good job but Customer Service was/is excellent. I was even given a standby courtsey car while my van was on the ramp.
I went to this dude even though I live in Scarborough !
