hello paul
thanx for your vulable reply, actually i got a letter last week from the consulate stating that they are no longer accepting the police clearence certificate issued by the passport office, that's why they are asked me to submit the pcc issued by the SP or commissioner fromthe local area.
Hi experts,
Iam currently in India and moving to Toronto next month on my Study Permit (MBA at Rotman, UofT). I plan to apply for PR (from Buffalo Consulate) soon after I land up in Canada. Currently Iam busy arranging the required documents like IELTS, transcripts, employment letter, PCC etc.
My questions:
1. My passport was issued in Delhi and thus, I can get my PCC from Delhi Passport Office in 1-2 days without much hassles (hopefully). However, I am concerned over the the recent issue of whether to get the PCC from Passport Office OR Police station.
-> Is it TRUE that CIC has stopped accepting PCC from Passport offices and expect it ONLY from the local Police Station/Commisioner's office? Please advise.
2. My typical case:
Temporary Address (as on Passport) - Delhi Hostel address, valid until 2001
Current Address - Delhi/Gurgaon address, but different from temporary address
Permanent Address - Outside Delhi(in UP), not lived there for last 8 years
-> In case the answer to 1 above is TRUE, which Police Station should I approach - the one for the Passport temporary address OR the one around the current residence? I WISH it is NOT the one for the permanent address!!
3. My IELTS score breakup:
Listening: 9
Reading 6.5
Writing: 7
Speaking: 7
Overall: 7.5
-> Does this mean that I loose 2 points (due to Reading < 7) and get 14/16 for Language, eventhough my overall is > 7?
-> If YES, then if I support my IELTS score with my TOEFL score (300/300) and request in writing for MAX (16/16) points, is there a slightest possibility that I could be considered for it?
Would appreciate your kind advices on my queries, especially the one on PCC, since the timelines and the hassles involved in getting PCC from Police station is MUCH MORE than getting it from Passport office. Please help.
Thanks a lot
