I got my citizenship last month. Now I plan to move to India. But before going I want to apply for my 9 year old son who has been living with his father in India for the past 2 years out of 3 yrs. Will the period of absence from Canada affect his application for citizenship?
Should I come to Canada to collect his citizenship card? I shall be thankful for an early reply.

Yes He is a PR landed together with us in 2003. Unfortunately his Confirmation of Residence document got lost for which I have applied for replacement. That's why I could'nt apply for him with my application. Now that I am a citizen I can apply for him alone.
Small correction....
Yes, you can apply separately for your son's citizenship. However, at least one of the parent must already be a Cdn citizen.
You qualify as you are a citizen of Canada now.
