Just got off a call with citizenship office. Was advised that they are opening applications today received on October 1st, 2007 and candidates would receive the acknowledgement letter and booklet on Canada within approximately 3 weeks.

LIVE LIFE KINGSIZE..........
Hey Kunato,
Can you post your progression as outlined on the website? I have still not received anything in the mail, booklet or receipt. I had applied from Mississauga on Sep 6th, 2007
Mine still says:
************************************
We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on September 10, 2007.
We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called A Look at Canada on September 10, 2007. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
We started processing your application on November 30, 2007.
**************************************
I actually called the call centre and they said that I should have received the booklet etc. and that they would be sending it again today. They said the initial verification is done but it might be a while before I get a test date.

Hi,
First and foremost, do not worry about getting the booklet. Download it yourself and start studying ASAP (trust me, I had to write test 4 weeks after I got the booklet and I was literally taken by surprise)! The acknowledgement letter is also not that important; it'll say, "we've received your application, ...yadi yadi yada,..."you know that already from the online status.
I suggest you not to call CIC guys. They'll be telling you stuff that you can check on the website yourself anyway. So DON'T worry, and RELAX. I decided not to call them the day when my case got entered into online system.
The MOST IMPORTANT point is that you can see your ONLINE status!!!! This is what really matters. Make sure your address is correctly displayed on CIC website!
The next online update will say "case transfered to local ON office". This will most likely occur within the next 2 weeks. The next update will say "we've sent you letter to appear at a citizenship test at such and such date. It won't state location though". If you do not receive test invit. letter at least 3-4 days prior your test, call and let them know (That's when you REALLY need to call CIC).
ONLINE Updates are ONCE a week on Friday, around midnight! I am positive about that.
My timeline:
Applic. received: Aug 28, 2007
Started processing: Nov 15, 2007
Case transfered to Toronto: Nov 28, 2007
Invited for the test: Dec 13, 2007
Test written: Dec 20, 2007
Oath: TBD, most likely Jan 15-20, 2008

I completed my three years in Canada on Aug 25, 2007 and on the next working day I sent my application to CIC. Here is my on-line status:
We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 29, 2007. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called A Look at Canada on August 29, 2007. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
We started processing your application on December 18, 2007.
I live in Kitchener, Ontario; so can somebody advise that when shall I expect to appear for the written test?
