Hear are some of the answers to various questions in various posts in this thread.
1. Yes, Scarborough office seems slow because it handles the largest number of cases in whole of Canada for Citizenship Test.
2. You either need your Passport with the IMM 1000 or your PR card along with your driving license and/or SIN number at the time of test.
3. No, they do not verify residency from stamps on your passport at the time of citizenship test as all this information has been written by you at the time of applying and they have their own sources (?) for verifying the same.
4. Color of the letter is only for maiking different groups to make things easy for them. It has got nothing to do with your exam or result thereof.
5. At the time of Oath ceremony you have to take the same documents you showed to them at the time of the citizenship test.
6. They are not concerned with your passport and do not stamp the same but they do stamp the IMM 1000 and give it back to you for your records. However, you have to surrender your PR card at the time of OATH CEREMONY.
7. If you have lost your INDIAN Passport, you should inform Indian Consulate or High Commission as you would have difficulty in getting the VISA to India without the same. The Consulate for the first time giving the VISA on your Canadian Passport require to see and stamp you OLD Indian Passport. It does not matter whether the same is current or expired.
8. Generally the whole process takes 10-12 months and you should not worry if you do not receive invitation to OATH ceremony even after 3 months of your exam as specially the busier offices like Scarborough do take much time and they try to organize Oath Ceremony once in 2-3 months time and accomodate all at once.
Hope it helps.

actually... they do... the applicants passport is the document most frequently requested by cic after cra notice of assessment for the purpose of verifying residency... and if you are called in before a judge, then the judge will almost always ask for the passport...

does not affect the test or the test result (its so easy a 5 year old can pass the test) but it does determine when you take the oath depending on cic's scheduling...

This could be a new development. I took my test in November, 2003 and they did not even see the Passport but asked for the IMM 1000. And later when we took our Oath in Mar 2004 still they did not see the Passport but asked for the IMM1000, stamped it and gave it back.

pramod ji, the passport is not always asked for... but its the second most requested document when they want to do additional verification...
do you *have* to take it to the test? no, unless they specifically ask you to bring it (and they have actually in some cases)... its not required... is it a good idea to have it handy? i always advise people to keep it with them...

Chandresh, you have mentioned earlier that you have been randomly selected for Finger printing. Will you please share when have you sent your finger prints and when did you get the letter of test. I am in similar situation.
