i applied for Canada immigration under family class as my wife is canadian. we got married last august in india as i am indian citizen but we were not able to get marriage certificate from india as they told us it will take a month to get it and me n my wife have to join our job before that but my wife applied for marrige certificate from quebec and quebec goverment issued us marriage certificate ( under semi authentic act) does it affects immigration process. please help me....

Does anyone know, is it possible to start sponsoring the papers before the marriage. Actually I got engaged recently and iam getting married in February. So with the proof of engagement photos , can i start filing family sponsorship for her now itself . Any pointers on this is much appreciated.

You cannot file the sponsorship application before the marriage. However, it is always a good idea to start collecting supporting documents well before marriage. Prior to travelling overseas for marriage, carry the application kit so that you can fill the same jointly with your spouse, collect all the required documents for permanent residence application and file the completed forms, immediately upon return.
