If I were you I would change courses and move into the Financial Field and/or do my CBET/ MBET. It might take you three good Years or more but you can accomplish anything that you want in that time. Also can choose part time studies.
Costs would run about a $100,000. Recovery period about the same number. Prospects: In about ten years you will earn double of what you make in the first.
Location: Waterloo University, Course: MBET. or Finance?
Loans and Scholarships can be obtained after a search at that institution or after a consultation with their Guidance Councilor.
At 27 you will be in a very sound post and flying high.

I know that you will need that financial backing. Hope some one will sponsor you.

PSU: Public Sector Undertaking? If so, any chance of obtaining a VR? (Voluntary Retirement) Or does he want to hang in there and complete his term of employment till 55? and then take a retirement.
Or stay there in the warm climate and visit you from time to time?
A lot of options are there. See what suits him the most?
But leave it with him for him to make a decision.
