Hello,
I am an Indian CA and a US CPA. I would like to know what visa status is required for me to pursue Canada CA and which province is the best, in the sense of exemptions and job opportunities.
My husband is a s/w engrr and will soon be applying a PR as primary applicant.
Meanwhile is there anyway I can start my Canadian CA (internship).
Also, I have heard about CGA as a better bet. What visa is required to start CGA.
Thanks in advance.
If you are anywhere close by to these centers in India or abroad, contact them and get all of the details from them. They are there to help you. If you are educated in a field, in where they are looking for people like you, then you will be provided with help and assistance right there in India. You can hit the ground running upon landing here in Canada. See link.
Your husband will have to contact them and see if they will provide him with the proper names of the Institutions and with a suitable location for YOUR studies, at a location where HE finds a suitable employment. You will have to do your own spade work to accomplish your requirements at the Indian end. It is preferable to obtain a contact name with a phone number and an e-mail address too, when he meets with them for continuity. They will help you with the basics after verifying the qualifications and experience. To avail the study courses, you might be able to get the Distant Learning modules. But to article or do the understudying your presence will be required here.
The Canadian Government has decided to pour a few millions into the system to process and speed things up. By the time you contact them, it might make it to the other end and you will notice the speeding of things for you both.

Hello
to start CA/CGA in Canada presence in Canada is required. For Indian CAs, Canadian Institutes give some credit and exempt few exams, decided on case to case basis. Before immigrating one can apply for evaluation of present education and than apply for transfer of credits. This will save time if you wish to do CA/CGA in Canada. For CPA also these institutes give credit depending upon with which state you are licensed.
Can u please tell for an Indian CA doing CPA from Colorado,US under which rule to meet the experience requirements. Thanks.
