Please take some training in a call center in India. One of my cousin's wife (Orthodontist from Manipal Karnatka) is working as CSR for CitiCorp Canada in Markham(GTA).

I have gone through the links above not just for curiosity but to understand how much i need to earn or how much my daughter shall be in DEBT if she wishes to do dentistry here.
Its no surprise a qualified dentist from institution like Manipal college working as CSR in land of Opportunity, i mean Canada. I am glad that i am not a an internationally trained dentist.
ITs not just the cost that may prove to be obstacle in becoming the qualified dentist here but its much more than that. Pl. read carefully the last sentence in the paragraph reproduced form one of the links provided above.

"Applications will be reviewed after the application deadline. Applicants who are considered to have potential based on their application documents will be invited to the Faculty of Dentistry for an interview. The interview will be done by a panel comprised of two members of the Faculty of Dentistry or alumni and will take less than 30 minutes. Those applicants who are accepted into the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program will be notified by the Faculty of Dentistry Admissions Office. The decision of the Faculty of Dentistry concerning admission into the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program is final. No appeal mechanism exists. "

This 2.5 year orientation course shall make the immigrant doctor poorer by not less than 100000( I am sure i got number of zeros right its hundred thousand dollars). Add to this that cost of supporting self and or family.

Often i get furious about the arbitrary charges of dental sevices, inspite of having full family dental coverage. Now, i fell they probably deserve what they charge.

To all the Elite and Optimist people on this forum I wish to state the following,
Dear intellectuals, I am not a failure in this country, I made a conscious decision not to do the labour jobs, I started working in my field from the third week of landing in this country, I am also working hard to get the licence in my field, changed job only once in last three years for my own benefit, draws handsome salary which may not envey many, and above all " I am not a subject of discussion on Canadian desi".

regards

Ps. I am running out of time to do the spell check pl. understand and accommodate.

Reading the links HB1975's nightmares might have come true. My sympathies are with internationally trained dentists.

This is a carefully orchestered ploy by the denstists and their ilks. If they allow the internationally trained dentists without these hurdles, I am sure no body will do BDS course here, in the land of opportunity.

Foreign trainned Dentist cannot practise straight away in North America. They need to do a 2 Year Degree Course before they can get a License. This is same for both US and Canada. Usually the course is 4 Year. Because of your previous degree you will be exempted 2 year. But getting into a Dental college is the same as getting into Delhi College of Eng. There are hardly any seats in Canada and hence it is highly competitive.

Bottom like Canada does not want any medical professions to come here and start working easily. It is a highly regulted profession and most of the medical doctors / dentists do odd jobs once they come here.

I am telling you this from personal experience since I have someone going through the process in my family. If you need more info pls send me a PM.
