All of us have been arguing about the pro's and cons of Canada. My question, borne out of genuine curiosity, is to those people in India and the Middle East, Singapore etc.
Why do you want to come to Canada? From all reports India seems to be the place to be in...shining and all. So why Canada?
I hope only the people who have just arrived (less than 6 months) or are planning to do so in the near future OR are thinking about migrating, answer this. The rest of us have already made our views known about what we think the reasons are. My views from 8-9 yrs ago may be outdated due to the changing economic landscape of India so I just wanted to hear about it from 'the horse's mouth'...so to speak.

Hey Jake,
Seems that people are so confused about their decision of migrating to Canada, no one has come forward to post their reasons of immigration

The reason is simple,
Have been away from home for 4 years so want to settle down.
I want to slug it out in a country that is developing, and its the best time to benefit from it especially if you are young and ready to accept change.
I am not comparing Canada with any other country, just looking at it on its own, and looking at the opportunities that can be grabbed.
If I do manage to come to Canada then, it is with "no going back" attitude, and will make it my home for a good number of years.
15-20 years down the line, I can say, atleast I tried.

Are you there?
Thanks Heston,
Just so that my intentions are clear to the other(potential immigrants), all I am interested is in your own opinion and I am not going to challenge it. Nor am I asking any leading questions to prove anything.
Heston...is it because you feel opportunities are lacking in your homeland for your profession? You have been away from your homeland for 4 years so why dont you go back with the skills that could very well fetch a high price in your homeland? Is there something beyond just the money that you are factoring into your decision?
Just asking so I can understand better. Again I want to let you know that I dont think there is a wrong or right answer to all these questions so feel free to state your opinions.
