I am sorry looks like you have not done your homework, as you are asking very general questions. You say you are a dentist, so do you plan to open a clinic here in canada, are you qualified to practise in canada? There are lot of dentists in every mall (atleast in GTA). Even if you are qualified do you have sufficient funds to setup practise?.
In your immigration form you would have filled the place you want to Land, that is the place you need to immigrate to. (Ex Toronto, Vancouver) otherwise immigration will ask lot of questions.
Please search the threads in this forums for initial accomodation in paying guest type lodging if you prefer.

From my friend and mentor
**********************

Please don't scare the day lights out of this couple. They will surely succeed.

The Banks here give a Loan once they qualify, even if they do their Dental
Assistant's post. Also they can both get that with minimal exposure and I
am sure they will settle down within a matter of months. SIX at the most.

If they work through any of the insurance company or other Dentists, they
can easily do 10-16 sittings just cleaning teeth. I don't know the costs or
what the insurance companies will pay. Also they can work evenings after
the BIG DENTISTS close their shop and go home.

All these are plus and surely do encourage them and make them succeed.
I know, it will take some time to become a full fledged dentist. But I am
sure they have done their foot work before they bought their tickets. Try
and help them if you can and know some one who is doing this for a living.
Just point and whistle. WILL YOU??!!

Good Luck.

I have seen dentists having flourishing practice here unlike in India .. reason is that most people's jobs have insurance which covers dental work.. I guess that s why quite a few dentists offer first free consultation .

Although there are quite a few dentists here already but GTA seems to be your best bet for a practice as most immigrants land up here .... It might take you a few years to succeed but as I said to me dentists seem a lesser risk area provided you are qualified to practice which I believe might need you some certification .

For landing however , you might wish to land @ a place where you can do this certification ...once finished (if out of the GTA) you can always land back later ..Check Dalhousie University , Halifax .
