Reliance has reduced their calling rates to 5.9 cents per min. check it at https://www.relianceindiacall.com/canada/index.aspx

Also, they have a promotion where you can get 120 minutes for free talk-time. https://www.relianceindiacall.com/canada/Landing_diwalioffer.aspx

If you are interested you can register with Reliance thruough https://www.relianceindiacall.com/web/Signup_step1.aspx?from=2&product=REFER

and add 12 digits PROMOTION CODE: 4909131038048 and morever refer to your friends / familes where you can additional upto 60 minutes.

Clarity is good and it's reliable, I have started using it.

I got an email from them on Nov 4th to take advantage of this offer...
Also, I see that $0.059 is for Landline calls from a TOLL number in Toronto. Anyone has any idea what is this TOLL number game? Is there any additional charge for dialing?

Can they never be clear on thier website itself?

Hiren

Thats a good news for me i quite often use Reliance Network to make long distance calls to India & UK.

Hiren, This is what i understood from their website (may be wrong) there is a Toll free number & Toll Access number https://www.relianceindiacall.com/canada/otherdests.aspx

I think for us in order to avail the 5.9cents rate we would have to dial the Local access number for our city (based on our location) which would start with 647/416 (toronto for eg). If we are in different city where they do not have listed a local access number we would have no option other than to dial their regular toll free number (1-866...). The other thing is if our relative in india is using Dhirubhai network we pay only 5.9cents regardless of whichever way we access (toll number or toll free).

Hiren Sahib,

Most of us who are already on their service got this email on 4th November, 2008 while their promotion ended on 3rd November, 2008. However, you can call them and find out if they would extend the promo as they sent the email after the end of promo.

Any ways, the TOLL number in Toronto means a 416 or a 647 number which is local for you but the others may have to pay a long distance rate if they are not in Toronto area. As you would notice on their website that they have local access numbers for a limited number of cities in Canada. Hence, if you are on their prepaid service and use 416-800-1665 which is a local number for you, you would get charged only 5.9 cents for call to India, which is a good rate.

EDIT : I called Reliance and was told that for existing customers, if they recharge for $25 before 15th Nov, they will get extra 150 minutes credit. These extra minutes would be credited to their account within 48 hours of recharging their account. Not a bad deal at all.

I just talked to the customer care and they're saying that if you have received the mail then only you will get the benefits (till 15th nov)

And the promotional code which gillete had provided, doesn't seem to be valid anymore. Does anybody else has the promitional code ?
