Hi we have been in Dubai from 10 years and between us my husband and I earn pretty well and have a good lifestyle. We have 2 kids in primary school. We are well settled here but want to
move to Canada for better education for the kids and more family time. Maybe I would move with kids and Hubby would move after he gets a job here or a transfer. I have done my landing in 2009 and theplan is to move in 2011. But I am confused . Should I give up my comfy life here and move there just for a passport and better education. I am Indian pleAse advise

You have pulled the one and half year old thread, but I think the situation is still almost the same so just go through the postings of thread and as you mentioned you already landed in 2009 you must have some experiences of Canada. How was that?
Also consider if you have finished one year in Canada, you can stay for one more year and go back so that you can be eligible to renew your PR. Good luck,

You have to decide yourself. Nobody can make decisions for you.

I am also a person who landed in Canada in 2009 from Middle East. My family still lives in Canada since my children are studying there (University and High School). I am living and working still in the middle East. I would say from my experience so far that I would not have done this if I were working in UAE in a good job, since there are higher education opportunities for children in Dubai (I am from KSA where there is no Universities/Colleges for expatriates after high school)...

Hi CDs, we are on the same boat and have to land by November this year. We know this is not an ideal time to move there. We need your valued advise on our kids education. My son is studying 2nd year (2nd semester) in Melbourne, Australia. Is it a good idea for him to finish his final year here in Australia, work one year and get work experience and then finally move to Canada and start work? Or to spend one extra year in Canadian Universities instead of three year graduation in Australia?

Our other child, she is in year 10, if we stay in Australia for two more years and wait for my son to finish his University and get one year work experience and meanwhile my daughter can finish her schooling and start University in Canada.

We would like to go there for short amount of time to do the necessary landing formalities, do we need to travel on return ticket or one way ticket and then buy the return ticket from Canada. Does the immigration officer ask for ticket at port of entry or not?

When we come back to Australia, do we need to declare the funds at Canadian airport that we will be carrying back?

At the first time entry to Canada, how long does it take at the airport to do all the formalities. Can we land at any time or have to be there at a particular time?

Thanks in advance for your reply and have a nice weekend to all of you.

Regards,
