Hi, I am an ex-Dubaiite and faced similar problems after coming here.
Since you do have some knowledge about the voltage difference, please also bear in mind that whatever Converter you are buying is able to take the load of your Food Processor (Read the Load specifications of your Processor and buy a converter that is able to take a higher grade - for safety's sake !!).
Here, the houses are made of wood, so you do not want to burn your house down, eh?
Go to Carrefour and you will find the Converter. My wife bought 2 of them and they weigh a ton !!

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!!!
We d brought some - either the converter or the appliance got damaged after some time ... I do not think its worth while - Its better to send them across to India where someone can use them .

Fido.
I had hard time finding a convertor from carrefour. The salesman gave me did'nt work as it could not take the power.
I agree with Fido.....its not worth carrying so much weight unless your appliance has a auto convertor like LCD T.V/Laptop etc.

Please do not forget the frequency difference. Canada (Noth America) has 60 Hz while India and Middle East has 50 Hz.
