Disadvantage of living in a smaller town is it's extremely difficult to get a professional jobs as these jobs go to canadian born people.
I am considering toronto or vancouver

I support tamilkuravan. Ontario is more generous and spends a lot on people on welfare. It's not the case with other provinces. In alberta, the counsellor will ask so many questions, if you want to go back to school and they always encourage people to do some labor job, rather than leaving job and going back to school. They don't like to spend much on welfare schemes.
If "survival job" is indeed what you are looking for, then IMO, you stand a better chance in Toronto than in the middle of Manitoba (for example).
Even other areas of the GTA like Mississauga or Brampton are better than so-called smaller towns in the heartland of the country.
While it is true that there is unemployment everywhere and "opportunities" are everywhere, for a new immigrant from India/South Asia, Toronto/GTA offers a better support system.
There is public transit, cheap and readily available apartments/basements for rent, social support system from people coming from similar regions/backgrounds, etc.
In the smaller towns, you will be competing against the locals, who have lived there for many years, possibly all their life.
Their network and contacts will be far stronger than yours, as well as their knowledge and insight into the local job market.
You may not have friends and well-wishers who can support and guide you through this process.
There are also other issues like lack of public transit, high cost of living, hard to find accomodation, etc.
Unless there is a specific reason for you to land and settle in some such city/town (like a job offer, or friend/relative who can help you), your better bet is Toronto or Vancouver.
The opportinities in SK that TK is talking about has been in the news a lot recently.
The catch is that those are not "survival jobs" that you are looking for.
Most of those jobs are skilled jobs, requiring university level education from North America.
Also, the govt. of SK is mostly targeting new grads from good schools in Ontario like U of Waterloo, etc.
Good luck !

I have done my post graduation in marketing, i feel it's toughest to find a good marketing job because of english accent and not being aware of market conditions in canada , I am also planning to get a Canadian qualifications (which many people have suggested me) in logistics and supply chain management.
Since i don't have any friends or relatives in Canada, i am open to toronto or vancouver

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Vancouver is a city of nearly 3 million people. While Tourism is a large part of the economy of the city, it isnt the only one. Technology, Finance, business, etc are major industries here... not a town. While it is facing an increased unemployment rate, it is below that of Toronto.
Ontario is largely dependant on Manufacturing, whereas BC is dependant on Natural resources industry and construction.
Not just a 'town' by any means - Metro Vancouver's population is 43% immigrant with the majority being from South Asian communities as well as China/Hong Kong.
However this is just to defend the lovely place I live in that i call home. I dont have anything further to contribute to this thread. Unlike other posters here, I dont know and dont care to know about how to cheat the government and your own ethics by learning how to collect the maximum govt benefits, using foodbanks that are meant to help genuinely poverty stricken/homeless people and then working under the table and not declaring income.

GTA is the most immigrant friendly place in Canada and that's why a majority of people land here . Period .
Its a well known fact world wide that manufacturing and trading are the bigger income churners and most business centers are build on these ... Natural resources , farming , touring etc have never beaten these .
GTA is a big area - perhaps the biggest commercial area in Canada which comprises of 4-5 big cities and the best infrastructure in Canada . The possibility of getting a job / immigrant friendly atmosphere is more here then anywhere else ...
While choosing a place one should look at the infrastructure as well like immigrant centers . food banks etc ... for these show the capacity to support of that place .
Unlike small tows/ cities in Canada , the environment here helps a new immigrant adapt here faster .... for eg . people of foreign and different accents are understood here better when they speak in English then else where ...
