Hello Folks, I dont know if this question fits the category but i will place this here anyway.

I am planning to travel and will be gone for a month along with my wife. What is the best way to get to the airport with 2 suitcases each for me and my wife along with hand carry luggage. I am looking for a cost effective way to travel to and back from the airport.

1. I have an option to drive and leave my car on the airpport parking lot that will approx. cost me around $200 (Assuming the gas prices stay where they are ;)

2. I take a cabvan. The only issue i see here is my ability to have the Van ready right after i land back here after completing my trip as i wont have enough energy to chase any CAB companies by phone.

Is there any other way i can manage to reach airport with my luggage with least hassle and ofcourse keep it easy on my pocket ?

Any help will be much appreciated :)

THanks

Ask your friend to help dropping you and pick you up. I do the same.

How far are you from the airport? That should give you an idea on how much the cab van is going to charge you. You can ask for a van at the airport .... it depends on the time you get back but normal hours you should be able to get a van at the airport. I have used it many times without any problem. Just go to the taxi counter (i guess at domestic terminal it's at gate F) and ask for a van

You can get a cab from the airport very easily too...just head to 'Ground transportation' and you will see an area where you get prepaid cabs...

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Cougar,
Where are you located? and do you plan to take the flight from pearson.
Assuming you are in the GTA, Desi van's will take you to the airport for $55 or so. When returning you can take a illegal van for $50 or less or the airport limo for $60 or $70 (3 suitcases will fit easily at the trunk and one in the rear seat + 2 or 4 bags in the rear trunk).
If you are on the TTC line (while coming back), you can leave your wife at the airport and then take 1 suitcase by one and drop it at your house and the last trip will be with one suitcase and the bags. TTC comes to the airport at regular intervals (This suggestion is taken from one Mr Senappa who tried it once. You can use the search option in charcha to dig it out).
Other option is to use a park and fly parking location away from the airport which is atleast 30 to 50 % cheaper than the regular Park and fly. the van from the centre will drop you off at the airport and pick you up when you come (when you phone them from the airport) free of charge.
Another option is to ask your friend with a van to do the job (of dropping you and picking you up ) for $100 to $150. Even I will be happy to do this , if I had a van.
Tip : Chinese people are the cheaperst and more reliable than desi's.

Peace by TK

This should not be an issue.. take the Cab Van to the airport and when returning ask the Cab booth at the airport to get you a cab van. Van are available at any given time and I always use them atleast from airport to home.
