IMO, the best aspect of Indian education is not the education part itself, rather the culture associated with it. Stable families and the respect people in general have for education can by itself make a big difference .

Here in NA, the problem is with one too many a distraction. Of course, urban India apes the West, so the problems in the west also get cloned in the cities in India.

As for the debate over whether the education system is the best in the world........ figures show that even today, thousands, if not millions, go abroad for higher education. If education in India was so highly valued and affordable, would these people not enroll in a college or university in India? Time to think? I guess so!

Prime reason to earn dollars not for higher education alone. Don't allow students to settle in NA after higher education and force them to return back, u will hardly find anyone to come here for education. Education is still best in India.

So what about those who came here (or go to UK or Germany), studied in universities, went back to India and either started their own buisnesses, or used the knowledge they got here in their exisiting businesses or got great jobs in India itself? In my own family there are atleast half a dozen of them who did this.

That does not justify that the education in NA is best.
You cannot relate education with businessmen. There are many businessmen who are not educated.

Arright accepted. Please list the inventions what our Indian universities have achieved in

1. Medical science.
2. Physics.
3. Business and Management.
4. Aviation / Transportation.
5. Space research.

My point is not that the Indian universities are not up to the mark but the education and universities in North American and European countries seem to go way ahead of their Indian counterpart.

Please list how many scientists were born in NA. Patents/Research paper publishing needs more than the education (it needs politics also). There is so much brain power in India and but do not get a chance. This does not prove that education in India is not good.

FYI, read Bose/Einstein history.

Another good example is Microsoft O/S which is > 70% developed in India, but it is still recognized as MS product.

So when we talk about education then stick to it, Don't involve govt. policies/politics.

Yes, there are many businessmen who are uneducated (who could argue that?), yet they send their kids to study abroad who in-turn come back to India and be the future CEO of their family business. So, regardless of educated/uneducated business people, either they or their offsprings join a foreign university for a practical knowledge and not just few 'cram papers'. Even Dheerubhai had to send Anil and Mukesh to Pennsylvania and Stanford respetively.

Again, I wish to stress here that not all Indian students go to IITs, IIMs. For the rest, it's just cramming their way through Degrees. As a result, you can't expect any major breakthrough or research in Science/Technology/Medical etc. fields. You're just talking about Quantity vs. Quality here.

When Obama uttered the words 'Indian/Chinese are coming', he just meant 'Outsourcing' and nothing else. It's all about saving cost by American Corps, and not just the level of education in India.

Do you have any link to back this statement up? In my opinion, the core work is still done in the USA.

Well, I don't need to prove anything.

Just FYI, read the following link. You will find many like these on the internet.
