Dear CDs,
First of all my apologies for my ignorance in this topic. My query:
Myself, my husband and my son have PR status. We stayed in Canada in 2009 june for a week and went back to India. Our daughter was born in India iafter we got our medicals. so she was not added to our PR aplication and she hasn't been to Canada. She is 10 m old and is in India now. We want to come there next year along with our son. I cannot bring my daughter as she is not PR and we have to sponsor her after we come to Canada. This process might take
6-8 m as I read somewhere in this forum. I know that we have to be there for 1090 days to apply for citizenship.
Now my question --- is that 1090 days stay mandatory for my daughter as well or is it only for me and my husband. If we come in 2011 and if she come in 2013 then does she need to complete 1090 days from her entry to Canada. Also is it same with my 5 yr old son.
Why I am asking is as of now our intension is to get the citizenship to our kids and go back to India.
Please clarify my doubt.
Thank you all very much in advacnce.
Regards,
Sirisha.
Any one of you, either your Husband or yourself or both, complete your 1090 days out of a FOUR Year Period, you qualify for your citizenship. You have to study, pass and then apply for it. At the time of swearing in ceremony, please take your children with you, because you are proud to be a Canadian and the kids get it Automatically. They don't count the days for them, yet.
Freddie.
Thank you very much Freddie.
