Hello all ,
been a long time since i have posted a question on this site . Hope the response here is as good and accurate as it was the last time i was here .
Well i just got married in Dec in India . printed out the application to sponser my Wife and quickly went through the check list of documents we need to submit her application .
SO we finally have everything mentioned on the document checklist for both applications
However while getting her documents togeather we realized some of her documents have slight spelling errors made by the issuing authorties at the time of issuing , and will now take months for correction according to the concerning authorties there .
so my question is . is it possible to submit the application with her documents as they are or wait till the changes are made which could be up to one year ,or just excluse those documents .
for example the application checklist says birth certificate , voter id card , school records .
well we have her birth certificate, her voter id card has a spelling error in her name , and we are being told it can take up to a year to have that corrected . her school leaving certificate also have some errors in her name and cannot be corrected .
we were told by people in India that A "gadget copy" works for such errors in India, since these errors were not a big deal, and not very uncommon . due to voter Id cards only recently being issued in English and school leaving certificates were based on the spelling on the 10 and 10 +2 government board exams such errors are not very uncommon .Not sure if these errors would be accepted by canadian immigration or if canadian immigration accepts "gadget copy" . We dont want cause any delays in immigration process . whats the best solution to such issues ?
can some one please shine some light on what documents are needed and how to go about the spelling errors. can we use other Id forms instead of what is mentioned on application check list or should we submit what we have with "gadget copies"?
Got the blues its alredy been 3 months .
thanks for all the help guys .
So the best solution some one has suggested to us is. To submit all documents as they are, and attach copy of application we have submitted to election office for name correction on voter id card with copy of recipt and also get a letter from them acknowledging the error and stating the correct info and that the application for correction is in process, on offical gov letter .. ? wondering if this would, could work ?
