Any day is a good day. But do get in before the expiry date on the COPR paper issued to you. So, you are O.K. Please don't keep it too close to the last date, just in case the air lines decide to have a strike. (Like Jet and now Lufthansa). Fly out before the Monsoon starts.

Each one has a good reason to travel on a certain date. You have yours. So be it.

Since you have no problem with schooling here, you can decide to travel any time you want. Just check in where they are having all of the newer KinderGarten schools are starting. So, place yourself close to one so you will have no problems with schooling. They are getting them into the regular schools soon.

For accommodation: Most of the places go for around $35 to $40 per day. There are a lot of discussions here that you can browse and see where they are and what suits your pockets. Some choose it for their location. Some for their services and some want to stay far away and enjoy the peacefulness. Please see the current ones that are in business. Some have merged or no longer in good books.

Since you ar ein the hospitality business, have you considered checking for an internal transfer as it appears that you do work with American Hotels and a lot of them are here in Canada too?

As Freddie mentions, there are several option for short tems stay as you hit the ground running. If one of the hotels you've worked at has a chain here, perhaps look into getting a discounted room for extended stay?

Good Luck and Happy Landing.
