Please share experience / advise
my residence visa valid till june 2008 and we have spent about 26 months in canada till 2006. Due to some family problem we are out of canada till date.
1. Can we re-enter canada with the existing visa before expiry date?
2. Can we renew our visa for further 5 years after re entering canada?

I have no experience and I have no advise. But do it if you want to hang on to the Canadian PR statuus. Please go to their website and read the columns for renewal of PR. OR
Drop in and renew the same from within Canada.
1) Yes.
2) Yes.
and Yes, Do it from where ever you are on or after 1st of May 2008. But get all of the forms and pictures ready on that date. Then file it by Registered Post OR through a courier.
