1). Notice of assessment NOA, is normally issued to you after YOU file your tax return and they file it into their computers. It is a print out normally MAILED out to you.
Here is the sponsorship application Financial Evaluation PDF Form and the item # 17, that you are referring to : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM1283E.PDF : It is not accessible to anyone unless permitted. Since it is only mailed out, please call and ask for one.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5482E.PDF

Here is the item in detail and it RUNS like this. There is a Phone number you can contact to obtain the same: 1-800-959-8281. Please have your Social Insurance Number and residential details etc., handy.

"The office processing your application may ask you for additional information and documentation if it is not satisfied you have provided sufficient evidence to sustain your income calculation........................................
.................... This printout is issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA, formerly CCRA) and you can obtain it free of charge by calling 1 800 959-8281. Your spouse or common-law partner will also have to obtain an “Option-C Printout” if he or she is co-signing the undertaking.
If you are unable to obtain and produce an “Option-C Printout” or if your income reported in this document is less than your minimum necessary income, you will need to provide documentation establishing the amount of income you earned over the period of 12 months preceding the date of your application, such as: pay stubs, if you are employed................................................"

2) You have just recently filed your tax return. Those who filed ELECTRONICALLY get their returns assessed faster, than that is filed through the mailing system. So, you know how you filed yours. It generally takes about THREE weeks. At times, there are unusual delays. I would urge you to call the CRA on their call lines and wait to hear from them about your recent filing with them. The number again is the same as above.

It is nice to inform the Immigration Canada that you are still employed and it is prudent to tell them that you are still working with them and your location is such and such and the total emoluments for the year will be ..... etc., from them. It always pays to provide such documents that have its merits.

Freddie.

And eventhough this is routine question i would like confirm About minimum income limit for wife and dependent child.

"I have around $22,000(assesed for 2009),is it ok for sponsoring wife and 5yrs son.?"

I am sure you have sufficient savings plus a steady job to sponsor the family. Please fill in the forms properly and make sure they are complete. All the attachments are also submitted with the form, fees paid and the receipts enclosed. Keep a copy of the submission for personal files.

Please coach the better half by providing all of the required details about yourself and Canada and anything else she needs coaching in, and prepare them for an interview, if they call her for one. If and when she goes for that, have her carry sufficient materials to substantiate the marriage and provide proof of it and get through the same successfully.

Currently there is a family re-unification program in force and hope it kicks in and they provide you with help also.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

When i sponsor my wife three years back in Quebec , income was not required to sponser spouse,

in toronto do u really need income proof to sponsor spouse ?

i though u need to meet requirement only when you sponsore " Family class"

When an individual migrates, he or she shows the financial details and support. That is sufficient. But when family is sponsored, they just ride on their coat tail. But if the form asks for a specific detail, then you provide the same, how they use it is their concern. I see it is called for in the submission OP is asking information about. So, provide the NOA's called for. Now you know that they have it at their finger tips, even if you do not submit the same. They can pull up any information about an individual, just like any other financial institution.

Currently, I see it takes about SIX Months, if ALL of the forms are filled in and it is complete with fees etc.,

Freddie.
