One more point. The condominium is in a good location and managed by one of the good property management firms, hence we were somewhat secure enough to proceed with the transaction.

Well, actually, since we have a job in Canada, we have been able to take an apartment on lease. We had to provide them with the appointment letter. Thereafter, they faxed us the agreement and we couriered them the draft in Canadian dollars.

The only flip side is that we have to sign a lease without actually seeing the property first.

Geeta,

Securing a job while resident outside Canada is something very very good. Awesome!

A few queries, if you don't mind me asking -
Did the realtors mention it as mandatory to have an appointment letter? Wouldn't they have done the lease agreement without the appointment letter? Even if the immigrant shows available funds in multiples of their yearly lease cost, would they still not provide a lease agreement?

When are you moving to CA & what is your primary motive to shift there ?*just curious*

Are you moving from India?

Wish you the best in all that you do! :)

Yes unitz. Moving to Canada with a job seems to be a dream come true.

No. The realtors were very specific about the appointment letter. They also did a back check with the employer.

Our purpose is migration.

We are moving from Mumbai too, but that'd be beginning of August. Resignation period expires end of July. :)
Hope to zero in on Vancouver but all feedback says Toronto is the place for advancing careers. :)
Also, CD reads more like Toronto CD, hardly see any vocal Vancouverites CD :(

Good Luck!!!

From what I understand, Vancouver is a better place in terms of scenic beauty and quality of life.

Careerwise, I agree, Toronto might be a better place.
