Hello group

I am planning to move to Dubai from Torotno and look for a job there towards the end of this year. I have some family and friends there who could help me out. I was just wondering if anyone has done this in recent times. I am an IT program manager in financial services industry here in TO.

Thanks for any help
rsk

We have a friend who moved for good from Canada to India two months ago. He's now working in the financial sector in a senior managerial position. He's earning well and is very happy, especially now being close to family and friends and most importantly his ageing parents.

Your best bet should be India. You will get good salary since India is prospering and jobs are easily available esp I am told Bangalore, which is beautiful place. It will take time for Gulf to come out of financial crises. I heard people are not getting salary on time. 3-4 delay in salary.

Thanks for your input guys. I understand what you are saying ant India, but I was in India for 3 weeks last month and I decided that I could not live there for the following reasons even if I get a good job with good salary;

1) Way too many people.
2) Traffic is so horrendous that there is no way you can commute without getting worked up.
3) Absolute lack of common courtesy among people
4) Dirty.
5) It has become expensive to live there in metros.
6) Family and friends are in Dubai

I visited Dubai and I liked the place. Not crowded. Day today life is easy as compared to India and most of all friends and family there. I have decided to go there to try my luck. I am confident that I will find a well paying job there. Any tips would be appreciated.
