Just curious. Why would they ask you these questions in an interview for a labour job? Also, why would a supervisor hire somebody smarter than him/her?

I do not encourage lying on a resume, but going by what you have described, you SEEM to have a fare chance of making it big in Canada, as IMO, most of Canadian economy is based on retail sector. Maybe have patience till lady luck smiles on you.
