Desi attitude in Brampton sucks!

Hello Canadian Desis,
I have been a resident of Brampton for over 5 years now, I couldn't help notice that the attitudes of people especially desis have taken a turn for the worse. I don't mean to generalize and say everyone is rude but I have often noticed a few things that disappoint me. Here are a few things I noticed.
1. Whenever you go to malls for example, the person at the checkout(especially desix) doesn't bother to greet or respond to your greetings.and is often rude when you have some queries. However, the same person is very polite when it is a white customer.
2. Whenever you come across a desi while walking on the sidewalk, they pretend you don't exist or don't respond to your greeting of \"Hi\". They just ignore you.
This is especially disappointing because these days even in India, people have become lot more civilized and helpful and decent.
I would not be so surprised if the person doing this is a gora but a brown person doing this to another brown is a bit perplexing to say the least. Why are desis like this in Brampton ? Does anyone else feel like this or it's just me overreacting ?

I agree with you on this matter.
While dealing with desis don't go with facial expressions. They might not have developed the artificial expressions like the people born and brought up here. But they are naturally kind hearted and helpful.

Their attitude is just pretentious. While desis are genuine and noble.
Most perhaps, it is do with being shy.

Arbitrary hi's on the sidewalk maybe is making them think you might be another Amway "millionaire" and want to keep away

In India you dont go about saying Hi to every brown person on the street . So why are you doing that over here ? Brampton is a Brown majority place so expect everything like inDia. If you are so concerened go live in a white majority neighbourhood.
