The plan sounds good...but i am afraid if thats good only for kids, like you mentioned you bought it for your child..... you also indicated you have 2 other wind mobile, how has your experience been with them? coverage/reception wise....

Although i dont use my cell too much, my "between us" usage has been quite heavy...and having a good reception at all time is very important for me....
I guess thats why these big companies are acting so much.... there seems to be not many companies around providing reliable and robust reception.... waiting for someone to prove me wrong....

The plan can be good for anyone (not just kids ;) ), as long as the features fulfil your need. I was going by what you mentioned earlier - majority usage between the 2 of you. So with the add-on feature the "between us" is unlimited. I needed the same feature. Since I already had 2 WIND's in the house I opted for the add-on, which gives me unlimited "between us".

Like I mentioned in my previous post, a lot depends on the quality of the phone. The Huawei phones from WIND are reasonably priced but not that great for signal strength. I have a LG Optimus T (T-Mobile's phone from US), and that works great. My wife uses that one extensively, and very rarely does she have signal problems. Infact all the way from Oshawa to Grimsby she's in a WIND HOME calling zone. It wasn't like that when we were on Rogers. I've had that phone for a year and have seen improvements in the signal strength over that time. (Do I sound like a WIND agent :D )

If you're thinking about the WIND pay your way, Oct 31st is the last day for free unlimited incoming (for life), which is usually a $10 add-on

I have a mobilicity phone on $25 plan...unlimited talk, text and data includes caller ID.

Couldn't be happier...I am going to put my plan on pre authorized payment and they will give additional $2 monthly discount. So I will pay $23 starting next month....I have a nexus from Mobilicity.

Good thing that if I am out of zone, I pay 15 cents vs. 35 cents RObelus charges

great... WindMobile's "pay as you go" promotion seems a good way for me to try it out.... as i understand it, all i need to do is go grab their SIM, put it in my cell, charge it with say $40.... unlimited incoming ... outgoing @ 20 cents/m ... right?

As long as your phone can works on a 3G Network - HSDPA 1700 / 2100, you're good. Alternatively, you can get a cheap phone from WIND and buy a good one from either Kijiji or the US.

The cheapest phone that WIND has is for $48 which inlcudes a SIM. Just a SIM costs $25.

You can recharge in various amounts, the cheapest option (from a longest duration perspective) is $40 for 180 days.

Did some more research....both windmobile and publicmobile has some reception problems even within GTA.....

I heard Chatr uses Rogers towers and therefore their reception/coverage is simillar to Rogers..... not sure how true is that.... has anyone here used them?
If that is true, then Chatr plans look promissing to me:-

- $25 / month.... prepaid, hence no commitments
- Unlimited incoming and outgoing .... within Chatr zone (i.e. GTA)
- Includes call display, call waiting, forwarding and group calling

any comment or suggestion appreciated...

Thanks
