i have almost the same problem. I am police Sub inspector and my wife is computer instructor in some institute . I have one child aged 3 years. I have completed 10 years service in Chandigarh Police and not got promotion yet and my wife is diploma holder in Electronics and Communications Engineering. She used to work with ESPL Mohali and got handsome salary but due to stagnation in my field and uncertainty in Electronics indsutry in Chandigarh we applied for the PR and got medical papers after almost 4 years . We both cleared IELTS with 7 bands and my wife worked hard for French classes. Now since we have got the medical and it is to be submitted back within 50-60 days to Canadian High Commission with RPRF (Landing Fee ). But the problem here is my Passport got expired in due course and it is very difficult for me to obtain the NOC for passport from my parent deptt. since officers are not cooperating. without NOC passport is not possible. No enquiry regarding this is avialable in Chandigarh or Delhi office means they dont entertain enquiries. In such scenario I sometimes think of resigning my job and get passport in TATKAL scheme but if i get problem in medical then i will have real real problem since police experience is of no use and i wll not get any job. So I have only two options left

1. I resign now and get my passport and send medical and wait for visa to reach Canda. but visas are not sure till u actully get them and i m not sure about the Candain system my change all of sudden.
2. I dont get medically examined and let my wife (since she is principal applicant) and daughter get visa . She will once travel to Canada and then she will sponser me .

I m seeking advice on the above issues and also seeking guidance if i can send my wife and daughter's medical examination without my medical. or Embassy people will raise objection to this. if they dont object and give visa to my wife and daughter then can she later sponser me or not.

should i clearly write to the visa officer that my passport expired and can only get new after resigning and dont hold visa till then and it may please be granted to my wife (principal applicant) and daughter.

Should i send my landing fee now or not.

what should i do ? My dilemma is even deeper.................

Please senior desis and consultants advise...is it right to resign from the job now or should let the wife migrate first............

2 get the facts straight .

1. Ur wife is the Principal Applicant and your Medicals have arrived .
2. After ur Medicals u need 2 submit ur Passport 4 stamping .
3. In ur present professional circumstances its difficult 4 u 2 get ur Passport extended .

OK I am trying 2 help u with substantiated knowledge that I have on the matter . Senior Members , ur comments r solicited .

U can always resign 4m ur job and extend ur Passport but avoid that as far as possible coz u r nt the Principal Applicant and u ll still have n option 2 return back in case things don't work +vely in Canada . The advise below forbears that u r not resigning 4m ur job .

DO NOT INFORM THE CANADIAN AUTHORITIES THAT UR PASSPORT IS NOT EXTENDABLE as it tantamounts 2 not having a clean record / disability of leaving India which wud make matters worse .

Else what u can do is
1. Try and delay the Medicals by providing some reason as to Professionally busy / medical problems . U can defer ur medicals but 1c the Medicals have been conducted u have 2 enter with in 1 year !
2. I m sure the High Commision wud wish the Principal Applicant & the dependants ' visas 2 b stamped 2gether . However they may exempt a spouse in case of genuine problem -- in which case the spouse / any other dependant may join later . Pls confirm this by writing 2 the CHC by Regd Post .
3. U ve 2 choices -- either go in 4 Medicals 2gether with ur family but avoid sending ur Passport 4 stamping till 1 yr of validity of Medicals . In 1 year time if ur wife and child r settled over there u can resign and file 4 extension of Passport and apply 4 Visa .

The other option is that u do not go in for medicals now citing reason that u will b joining in later due 2 family commitments in India. CHC may consider this and postpone ur Medicals 2 a later date and then u may apply 4 Visa with in 1 yr of that date .This can give u an advantage of another 6 months IF THE CHC SO DISCRETES .

4. Under ordinary circumstances a spouse can b sponsored if he/she is not included in the original form .But your case is exception . I guess u must inform the CHC that u cant join ur wife and kid due 2 family circumstances in India till a later date .They alone can provide alternatives . Y dont u try contacting Masood's office @ Delhi ?

I know Medicals can b deferred & its valid only 4 1 year after being issued with in which u must get ur Passport stamped and enter .

PS : I think ur Police Experience can b a + in getting u a Policing Job which is not only well paid in Canada but respectable as well .In addition u can do justice 2 ur job @ enforcing law and order that u can't n India . I saw some vacancies in Calgary 4 Police Officers which asked 4 strong mental demanour .

thanks mansavi for the invaluable information. I dont want to loose the chance to Canada and I have many friends who can help me settling moreover i m ready for the hard work. I have no other optio but to leave the job (means resign) and get my passport in tatkal system and then forward the medicals to the CHC. I have enquired from some consultants and they are saying if u dont send medical now they r not going to give visa to any even principal apllicant since according to canadian law its mandatory to conduct medical of whole family before visa is granted to anybody.Otherwise the principal applicant will have to give them in writing that i will not sponser this person ever. it is also mentioned in the medical papers. So i will have to leave the job or the dream to Canada forever. I have to decide in next 3-4 days. what do u suggest.

* it is next to impossible to try for No objection certificate now which is not issued to me since last year.
* I no the decision is personal but what do u suggest ......... more.
