I completed 7 years and had to leave US.
This trend of h1b moving to canada started in 2002, every body wants permanence over a temp visa and US GC takes years..

-- Yes, as per the new rule - if you meet certain conditions in your GC process, you can keep extending your H1 status until you get GC. But again, for some people, this indefinite waiting period is unbearable and hence they move elsewhere (mostly to Canada).

So what would a person do if he has got citizenship, but has no job, and does not own but rents a place to live?
