Hi.. we are Canadian citizens and would like to get my brother over. What is the best way, if at all one is there, to get him over? He is working in investment banking in India for the past 7 years. Regular process, I was told, takes 5-6 years (is that true?). Another option told to us was he coming over for some course in education visa (2-3 months processing + 1 year for PR application after coming). Any guidance is most appreciated. 
Application for PR under skilled category only takes 6-12 months from india from date of application. It used to take 5 to 8 years in past but things have changed now. I have also seen cases getting visa in 7 months. All you need to figure out if your brother occupation is given in the list of skilled category in cic website. Your brother can also check this from any of the immigration consultants in india. They don't charge for this. You need to do all this very fast because as per new guidelines,there is a fixed quota for every occupation and it is on first cum cum serve basis. Once quota is finished, no new application will be taken for year. PM me if your brother wants any further help in this as I am in india right now.
About study visa, I dont have much knowledge.

Yes, it is a good work but only worry is limited quota. They are encouraging very few applications and that too in certain professions only.so one has to be real fast as soon quota opens. Good news for OP is that it has just got open.
