Visitor Visa - Medicals Required for Parents

My folks applied for regular visit visa, and they have asked us to do medcals

1) How long does it take after medicals? I was told by travel agent that once they do meds, he will re-submit the passport to VFS and it usually a week? is that common or does it take more time

2) Considering they only asked for meds and their health is in good shape, are they certain to get visa..my point is did they ask for meds only after being satisfied with other docs ( my invite letter etc )

I applied for My Mom and Dad's visit visa. They asked for My Mom's medical and Not Dad's. The Hospital Took her passport after medical was completed. They received visa in two weeks.

They applied directly to VFS having no intermediate Agent. Avoid having Agent for small tasks if they can communicate properly.

Do not worry for Visit visa I think they will surely get it because they made visit visa easy for parents and made PR difficult (stopped new applications)

As you said, hospital took her passport? you mean they kept it and sent it?

My parents also applied for a visitor visa in May at Chandigarh but they were never asked to undergo a medical exam. They got their visa/passport is 5 days. My father is 65 and working and my mother is 62.

But I have heard of many cases on this forum where they ask for a medical for a visitor visa.

I guess you are talking about a Visitor Visa and not PR. When my mother applied for Visitor visa, she was asked to do medicals. Hospital officials submitted her passport to New delhi office.

Hospital submitted to New Delhi office, now this is 1st I have heard..I was told we have to submit but handing over passport to hospital staff is kinda risky.

My folks got their meds done on 6th June, sent passport to New Delhi which reached on 8th June ( Friday ). I found out today that the hospital sent the meds on 8th June itself which I assume would have take 1-2 days so around 11-13th June. Its 21st June today and the VFS website says its in processing

How long does it take? b4 I hit the panic button
