You need to be more specific - what you need? You can use expedia.ca to search for hotels as without knowing your budget, how many people, how many days/weeks, nobody can suggest you hotel.
Any hotel in Vancouver downtown is close to transit. Avoid in all circumstances cheap hotel on East Hasting Street, Vancouver.
If you want complete Desi area (want a feel of Jalandhar) then go straight to Scott Road anywhere from 96 Ave to 80 Ave in Surrey. Most of the areas are good for Indians to live (there are always exception). If you can be more specific about your requirement then one of us can guide you.
