Good move TK you are back in India. You can cook as much rice you want to and get the cheap pressure cooker too. 3/4th population of south asian countries would go starving if pressure cookers banned.
Bad timing is all I can say
A number of Indian students starting new at US Universities tend to bring pressure cookers. I am sure others too. He was bringing the cooker for his nephew who is a student at U of Toledo.
Anyway, the bigger flag appears to be a missing page on this dude's passport.

There were way too many red flags for security to ignore :
1. Pressure cooker.
2. Lie when asked.
3. Missing pages in PP.
4. Nationality.
He will have to pass through a lot of ordeal and hopefully he is innocent.

Though I am a fan of rice, I donot cook rice in pressure cooker. This is for your information. I mostly cook beef or Pork in it.
