Should Delhi Police be under Delhi Government?

The real question is effectiveness of the local police and not under whom the police should operate.
Today, the AAP thinks that because they are running Delhi, it should be under the Delhi Government. Because it is under central government that is led by Congress, the AAP can't do anything.
Tomorrow, suppose the situation is different. The AAP is leading the central government and in Delhi there is a Congress Government. Is AAP again going to change the law?
In India the police is not seen in good light by anyone, what we really need to focus on is the make them more responsible, it really doesn't matter under whom they operate.
A point here to notice is that Arvind is asking for autonomy for FBI because it has become puppet of Congress. The same can happen to the Delhi Police if it comes under the AAP.

I think you are confused about certain things.
a. The Police force is as effective as we know it commonly but it becomes 4 times as worse when it not accountable or governed by the people it is policing ... which is the case with Delhi Police .
b. If you were to understand the logic and the demand carefully - it is not to put Delhi Police under AAP but Delhi Govt... That has also been asked by Shiela Dixit earlier despite both the Centre and State Govt. were Congress.
c. I fail to understand this 'tommorow' imagination you have exhibited and what is the origin behind it .This is no where in the picture.
Now don't blame us - you have brought AAP into the discussion ... are you not de railing it now ??

Just making it clear. If you put your prism of criticism aside and read my post - my main point was focused around the Delhi Police and Governance issues, the AAP, Congress etc are mere references to current/future governments.
If you have something similar and I tried to moderate, please bring to any admin's notice.

My Conclusion : As far as Title of the thread does not promote AAP, Admins have no issues with discussions on AAP.
