Under the family class we have landed on 17th-May2011 in Toronto and obtained PR card.

Due to personal obligations we are in Dubai from then. Now that we are serious about relocating to Canada , can I have suggestion regarding the relocation in May 2014 by first week. Will there be any problem at the immigration as we are away for the last 3 years? Can you give some suggestions. Particularly regarding entering Canada. Are there any updates on such issues from the government. Please give suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

You will not have problems.
If they ask at the immigration, tell them that you have made Canada as your permanent home now ..... for the record.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

If I am not troubling you how is the job situation in Canada. We are in Dubai and we are doing good , at the age of 45 relocating to new country and job hunt worries keeps us away from deciding to relocate ASAP. But as like everyone for the children's sake we are intended to come.

And are you from Andhra bcos from your name I understand that you may be from AP.

I do not know your academic/employment background to advice you better. But it is not an easy task to relocate to a new country after middle age. You need to have lot of clarity and determination.
Generally, if you are not planning to depend only on a good job at least for few years .... then you will be fine.
If you are in a profession that requires license to practice in Canada, you will be fine after obtaining license here.
If you are coming with lot of savings so that you can invest for your home, car, second career and bills for one year then you will be fine.
If you have a plan to have a small business to meet your needs, then you will be fine.
Normally, children will adjust quickly and it will not be much difficult for them to survive and prosper. The problem is only for adults.

Dubai vs Canada, it is all about chosing between money & stable job Vs future of children and having a retiremant place for self. Tough choice for sure.

Background and experience is needed before checking out the job environment .If you are in IT /Finance , it should be relatively a smooth sailing ..If in Sales , it could be tougher.

Please share your back ground and experience .

--------
Get your Paperwork, PR Cards, PPs, Copies of the COPR etc., ready prior to departure and have them all handy together with your e-tickets and Boarding Passes.

Have a copy of your CV and the qualifications and certificates etc., handy.

If you know where you will be staying after reaching the destination, get all of the details handy. This is the information they look for.

If you do have a Driver's licence, get your Driving record from the DMV at DBX and a letter of recommendation from your Insurance company with whom you have the Policy. Same from India also. This will make your obtaining a similar licence here a little easier. Also get a International Driving Permit, which will enable you to rent a car here and drive for the first 90 days.

Get a letter from your last employer with a few good references there.

Carry sufficient amount of Canadian dollars for immediate needs and a few coins for the Airport Carts. Currently they use toonies.

There are numeroous other details and there are others who will chime in when they come across a few pointers.

Welcome back to Canada.

FH.

THIS SHOULD GET YOU A GOOD START...
