NZ is the one which will play the finals.

Poor ABD, Morkel and other SAs.

NZ literally cheated on them when they chose a small ground for WC knock out. One of the straight boundaries was just 45 metres! Can anyone believe it unless they were going to witness two high school teams playing each other and not a WC semi-final.

NZ also ensured a golf course grass outside the pitch and still very heavy at the boundaries since they cannot match the spectacular fielding abilities of SA. The ball would n't roll over and the fielder can leisurely pick it up before the ropes.

The SAs superior fielding was still on display where they would have saved at least 20 runs at the death. But SAs could not hold their nerves when they missed out on any number of run outs (especially by the keeper) and the skied catches.

The SA wicket keeper showed how he was different from our Dhoni who keeps his cool with under arm throws.

Rain was the spoiler here. Rain has been cruel to SA many times before in WC !

The flaw with D/L method is they just see how many wkts are remaining & how many overs are remaining. They don't see whose wicket is remaining & whose overs are left !

So NZ had 5-6 overs left from their ordinary part time bowlers left to bowl, but in D/L mathematical calculation method they get the same credit as a top bowler.

SA had the wkts of ABD left, but his wkt is given the same credit as a tailenders wkt , when it comes to mathematical calculations !

The mathematical calculations think that AB Devillers wicket is the same as Imran Tahir's wicket, while batting.

And they think that the NZ part time bowlers overs which are left are the same thing as the overs left of a top bowler like Southee/Boult .

I think SA would have easily scored 370 if they had batted for 50 overs, and NZ wouldn't have been able to chase it down.

Scoring 7 an over for 40 overs , and scoring 7 an over for 50 overs is NOT the same thing..as you lose wkts the longer you play & can't sustain that run rate for a longer time against top bowling.

So you can score 200 in 20 overs in T20 , but can't score 500 in 50 overs in ODI..although RR in both cases is the same.

The shorter the game becomes, its easier for LUCK to come in & for less talented teams to win.

So its always hardest to win Tests than ODI's than T20's against a talented team.

That's right. SA wasn't a choker really. It was the DL that spoiled the game. SA could easily reach 390 in those 7-8 overs, and that would've been hard/impossible for NZ to reach onto.

Even if NZ won, I still support SA for their immensely great and all-around Cricket showcase. They are one heck of a team, and has been a real contender for the World Cup for years. May be, luck hasn't been on their stride.

So in the end, what does it mean for India in case we reach the finals? Was this result due to D/L scenario in yesterday's match good or bad for India?

In simple terms - who would we prefer to meet in Finals - NZ which is a strong team, or SA who are really strong too, but we beat them in group stage match??
