Hey hi,

Hello, am an IT professional from Bangalore and am new to this forum. Came across this searching on net for information on Canadian visa/ work permit.

I hope you guys are far ahead and Guru in the matter and hence asking my questions here, hoping to get some answers :

1) My visa processing shall be taken care by the bangalore visa consultancy firm. Question is will they assist me in finding a salaried job in Canada? Oh they always say they will assist so asking you gurus.

2) Since I do not have a visa currently, Can I still apply for online and get interview calls? In the first place will I be entertained with interview calls w/o having visa in hand?

Welcome.
IT is a very hot field in Canada (relatively). Immigration to Canada is the norm.

Now, what did the Bangalore Visa consultancy firm promise you? What kind of visa did they say that they will get you. Getting a visa, without a job offer (of course, it will be a fake job offer but it is designed to fool Canadian visa officials to give you a visa), will take time.

On the other hand, companies like Infy, Kumaran, TCS will get a visa and also will send you for work (from their company),

If it is the former, there is no suitable right way. SOme may take 6 months, some a year and in some cases the visa agency will cheat you.

I assume that you are BE with atleast 3 years of solid software experience. Otherwise, it is hard to get a job of your own in Canada.

Unless you are in Canada, no one will reply to you. Canada already has tons of people there. They need someone who is there and can come for a face to face interview soonest.

Hey Hi Murali,

Thank you for the response. The blr visa consultancy are very much genuine. I was referred by one of my colleague who quit the organization and flew to Australia. He was helped by this consultancy for getting the visa. Some fees ofcourse and the work was done. I had inquired and found this to be a genuine one. They charge for their services.

They informed me that they would help me in getting the PR/work visa. Am still figuring out what is the difference between work visa and a PR. So once I get the PR, I have to land in Canada and start looking out.

I do not mind paying the consultancy their fees, but the question for me is regarding the job prospects. What if I land in Canada and doesn't end up in a job soon? So I was wondering if I can atleast check opportunities on net and then apply for visa. That way I shall be positive that there exists job for my area.

Oh I work in SAP technology and have 10+ yrs of exp.

You mind if I can mail you directly to have a open discussion with you?

Regards,
Sunny

I always say that Australia is better for people other than those in IT. For IT people I donot know.
Your technology is hot. You will get a job in Canada and may be in Australia too.

For PR to Canada, it is very easy for you to fill in the form yourelf. If you qualify for express entry, you can come in one year. Work visa means that they will fake a company and get a visa to send you to that company (only eye wash)

I am in Kerala and I will PM you my number. Call me tomorrow to discuss.

The OP has not mentioned anywhere about fake job and visa. It is a straight forward immigration agency/consultant, they apply for PR on behalf of the applicant and charge fees for the services. There is NO commitment of job by the agency.

The standard job assistance they offer is to forward you targeted job openings from Monster, Workopolis and similar job boards and charge additional fees for the service. The choice is yours - how much you wish to be dependent on them.

The PR application is straight forward and if you can read and understand the instructions on http://www.cic.gc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK, you can fill in and apply for PR on your own and save the consultation charges. Jobs are usually not offered to overseas applicants unless the skill set is very specialized.

Good luck.

Hiren

Thank you Murali. Am waiting for your PM.

Thank you Hiren. Considering the visa consultancy will help in getting the visa/PR, I have few questions.

1) Can we attend interviews w/o visa in hand? Will anyone entertain if we do not have a valid visa in hand?

2) Could you tell me the best source of portals where we can find the SAP opportunities in Canada? I just want to be sure that I do not end up sitting idle for more than 3 months.

Basically its the risk factor which I need to understand from you Guru's out there. Before I start to apply with the organization, I just want to be sure am doing the right thing. Because I do not want to end up sitting idle in India or Canada once I get the visa/PR.

Regards,
Sunny

I am loading up both your letters here and providing you with a response which will make more sense to it when you read it in continuity.

The first thing that you must make sure is that there is a NEED for people with your qualifications and experience here in Canada. The Government and the Immigration department publish a list of qualifications called NOC list, from time to time in which they will indicate that so many positions are opening up in those NOC Lists. This list changes from time to time, so it will be well worth watching out for that list through an RSS feed from them. There are others who also wait for that list and one such party is the Immigrant Consulting Groups all over the world. So, it is O.K. to keep in touch with them, if it does not cost you anything to obtain information from them. I also do that all of the time, as it serves my interests here on this board and those who approach for services.

You came to the right board to seek help.

Considering that one of these days your NOC Category opens up or you also have additional qualifications and experience in it, and if perchance it is in another NOC group and you could seek entry through that group, that will enable you to get into Canada, it will be desirable to keep your eyes open for the other groups too. You can always seek employment in either of the groups, just to land within Canada. After entry, you can switch your position to get employed into the other. That option stays open. The Government knows it too.

I remember one such incidence in which an IT professional entered here as a cook and then branched off after an year into the other.

Having said that you may fall into one such group, I would urge you to see if your qualifications there in India are also equal to the one we recognize here in Canada. If not, what are the additional courses or the number of years you have to do to complete to bring it upto date, which might get you started here in Canada, but with higher remunerations and a better career at a higher level. Your past experience will provide you an easy entry, but at a starting level and you can progress at a pace that the employer can let you progress, as all the companies are not large enough to let you move up swiftly.

If a cook can fill out these forms, (Of course with an IT background) I am sure you too can accomplish the same. We help here everyone, regardless who appears and seeks such help. It is a simple process and you can down load the application form and if you provide us the page and the line at which you are experiencing difficulty, we will do our best and point the same to you and tell you how to go about it diligently. The service we provide is free and done voluntarily.

Then enters the Language proficiency. You will have to come up to the standards the Immigration Department expects to to possess EVEN BEFORE YOU MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO GET ENTRY INTO CANADA. You will have to prepare yourself to get Level seven (7) to be placed into a preferred list.

Now you will see what are the requirements and the priorities that you must place on these and find out the time it will take and the sum of Rupees that you will have to expend to get to the starting gate. Once you orientate yourself and prepare for it, then the possibility of obtaining entry into Canada becomes a reality.

There are people who have gone through their education, from the beginning, in an English Medium, and also have a degree from an Institution that is recognized here in Canada and good numbers of years of experience in their profession and in an NOC category that is in demand, who can enter into Canada tomorrow, because they fulfill all of the requirements at once, because it seems that they have prepared themselves way back when they were children, because their Parents got them ready for a greater life than the others.

Based upon the foregoing, you can find out where it is that you stand. Will the Consulting group help you or hinder you, or is there a slim chance even to get entry into Canada through them and if so have they prepared you or told you about the position you are in and your success in your entry and how they propose to help you and the number of years it will take them to get you prepared and ready.

Now that you know about the help you will get from them, are you really ready to even apply for a job or for an interview with any one outside of India. The ball is in your court to work with and see how you will work with it or advance to the step.

If you find that it is not possible to answer, you will have to find out if the Consultants are helping you or just humouring you after taking the money from you.

Please don't forget that we know nothing about you nor do we have your CV to help us determine your chances of success and subsequent entry into Canada. So, please treat this as a general statement and use it to your advantage.

If you apply for the post and the Employer finds that it meets with his requirements and the post is open, then the Employer can provide you with a letter and he can work to get you a WORK PERMIT and an LMO plus a Visa for your entry, then, you are the luckiest person that ever posted here to seek help from us. So, we do not discourage you from seeking employment, but we have not come across one who obtained one and post here to tell us such a success story.

Hope this provides you with ample explanation.

Now, I wish you all the luck and success.

FH.

I will post to you a few of the portals that you are wanting to see with the type of qualifications you have, after you do the rational analysis yourself and finding out from the Consultant your chances of entry into Canada. The information that we have here is very little and it is negligible. fh.
