This may bring down grocery prices, but I was interested in this 10 years ago when I had just landed in Canada. Now that I am well settled, it bothers me how this is going to affect the overall economy - the bigger picture worries me.

No trees were killed by this post, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

15 stores with their brand name, don't make a dent in anybody's pocket book. It is like water off the ducks back. Also the prices don't drop in Canada. You take a good look each and every week in the bunch of flyers that land in your junk mail. Or alternately, look into RFD or Smart Canucks and you will see that the prices have gone up steadily and the products have gone down in quality and quantity too. In short we all are getting screwed royally by the Grocers, Bakers, and the Oil Companies. Also you are not able to compare the prices of these produce because you do not have the cost of the same across the border, where it is being sold for half the price in US Dollars.
Canadians either buy as and when they need or they are Impulse buyers and do not bother to compare goods and prices or do not know how. more on it if you want to discuss the same further.
I am a dreamer too, but the prices have not come down any so far and I am watching!, I am watching! You please do too.
