Name your preferred Desi Grocery Store in GTA.
For me its
Thiara in Mississauga - Highway 10 (near Winston Churchil). They are well stocked, cleaned. All items are priced. You can review the receipt (You know how Desi stores play around with item prices). Thiara has 3 or more branches.

We do most shopping from Canadian grocery stores except for Indian Okra (bhindi) and some odd indian items. However, whenever we are in the neighbourhood, we shop at Sabzi Mandi in Brampton. Other than that there is no clear 'favorite' desi grocery store.

It is actually Hurontario, a combination of Huron and Ontario named after two of the 5 great lakes. It is pronounced the same way by merging the two names("Hee-you-ron + ontario" ).
i hear desis calling it "Hooran-tario" and the local Canadians go like "eh, where?"

I do my desi grocery shopping at Indian Punjabi Bazaar as Subzi Mandi is too far. I wish they made their aisles larger and uncluttered. Also, they have stockers stocking the stuff exactly at prime time. If only they did this activity during noon when crowd is less.

I remember I used to call mercedes as "mer-C-dees" and this guy could not understand me until he realised and said ti was "mer-say-dees" :P.
Lots of things like this e.g. for Garage "gey-raj" or "gaaa-raj".
Btw I say "Huron-tario" and not "Hee-you-ron-tario" <-- that sounds weird .. why the "you" sound.
