Friends,
I am a CA right now in India. I have got my Visa & landing papers. I plan to move sometime in Nov/Dec this year. I have got certain queries, if someone is kind enough to satisfy my queries I shall be greatful.
1. What is best option for Indian CA in Canada like writing CPA or CGA or pursuing something else?
2. If CA certificate is not recognized at what level I can expect a job in Canada? Some of the mails are really shocking?
3. What is the tax structure? Like a person earning $8 - $10 for 8 hours a day have to pay tax if yes at what rate?
4.What should be the minimum earnings to sustain a family of three, taking rent at $800-$900
5. I have got 3 months to go. How do I utulize the time to the best?
6. Is the minimum dollar requirement enough to sail u thru the rough patches .
Love,
Tukai

Try overtaking child's imagination
We have taken the first step - a mail was sent (thru most reliable and proper channel) to the present President Mr Sunil Goel to create his interest in the subject. He was sent a link to the web site of Ontario's CA institute which shows that they are considering granting a special status to Indian CA's as they presently do for some other countries. He has given an indication that he will look into this development.
As per discussions some of us have had , we feel that it is necessary for a solid group to show commitment for creation of a chapter in Canada. I have not visited any web site or contacted any ICAI authority onthis, but as far as my knowledge goes, they require a certain no of active CA's to sign up a memorandum requesting for creation of a chapter.
With this in mind, I request all CD members , and their friends/relations/aquaintances who are Indian CA's (whether presently fee of the institute is paid or not) to gather at a meeting, say either on 9th or 16th of October, by which time I will be able to collect more information, to assess the posiblity and desire of CA's to create a chapter. Venue and time can be finalised in days to come, but members can indicate thru a post which date will be more convenient to them, and how many CAs can they hope to bring with them at the meeting whether or not they are CD members.
I am sincerly hoping to get an encoraging response on this matter.

Friends, I have spoken to almost 10 CAs about this development. Some of them were interested and some of them were not. But, with little effort I can be able to bring them in meeting. What about other fellow CD CAs. I have not heared from any body. No mail/no response on CD forum. What are you waiting for , Friends?
JAGO!!! Come forward for the noble cause. But, do not believe foolish theories researched by CD members like JAGO_DESI which is a product of a frustated mind.
Lokking for a positive response.

Dear All,
Sorry to have jumped in like this after a long time. I strongly felt that the subject of the thread should be changed now to "CALLING ALL CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS" as finance & accounts professionals means people from various activities in this field.
But I fully endorse the final bottomline or the main objective of creating a chapter of CAs.
Correct me if I am wrong..
Best of Luck,
Regards,
VJ
