You will be given two papers each containing 20 questions. One will be on signals and the other on rules. You have to score atleast 16 out of 20 in each paper to pass.It will be multiple choice type.Go through the official drivers hand book for knowlege. But buy aanother book that has multiple
choice answers type. This will be more helpful in the test. These books are available in Indian grocery shops. They call it sardarji's book.on one side it will be in punjabi and on the other side it will be in English.I found it more helpful from the test point of view.
In case you fail in any one of the two(Rules or Signals), you are allowed to take the test again on the failed one immediately by paying CAD 10 again.

Best of luck.Its quite easy.

To my knowledge, the officers ask for attestation of driving license only when it has incomplete info such as missing the word INDIA. Most of India driving license does have only state name which does not prove that the license was issued in India. This is one of the major concerns to the authorities. They are rigid and do not accept any supporting evidence such as passport that verifies the issuing state a part of India.

In some cases issue and expiry dates are not clear. However, Indian Consulate charges some fees for this verification and one has to put two days for this work. First day one has to go to submit the application with them and the next day has to go to p/up.

Dear Mr.Jain,
In my case it is clearly written at the top as India Driving Licence. Issued by the state of Tamilnadu.Expiry date was very clear. It was a laminted card type not a book also.I carried the Xerox copy of this license attested by Indian Embassy from Riyadh with their stamp and signature of the attache. After seeing all this I was told to get it verified by Indian Embassy at Toronto. Can you beat it?
The MTO guy says that no where it is written that it is verified!!!

Isn't getting this process done from Indain Consulate in our interest ? From what I heard, we save 12 months of waiting time between written test and road test. Is it true ?

If you have more than 2 years experience of driving in India, you can save time if you get the formalities done from Indian consulate. Wait time to appear for G2 after getting G1 is 8 months with certificate from authorized driving school and 12 months without certificate. You save this time if you go to consulate and get your old license from India attested.

My experience is very good. I had a Photo Card Lic.(We used to called as samrt card in Gujarat). When I cleared my G1 test, they asked me that would u like to book for road test. I booked at that time for after 1 month. I got cleared at 1st trial.
