In US, I understand that you can own a motel just by paying 10 percent. Here if you have to pay 35 % for the motel of say 600,000, you have to get 210,000 dollars. That is big amount for most immigrants desis.

Recently a friend of mine offered me a motel with just 80,000 downpayment. Not much to start with. Right?

I think it really depends on the "Return on Investment" , but as indicated, going for motel business in early stages of settlement for new immigrants is difficult.

however, its better to have an option open for future.

My brother in law and his wife moving from US...and looking for motel job ..they have 20yrs of experience in motel and they are moving next month
