Duration to get Citizenship

Hello There,
I am planning to apply for citizenship on Feb 18 th 2005. Can anyone please let me know how long its gonna take until its processed and the time that I get the date for written test and Oath.

Any info is appreciated as I need to finalize few things on personal front that involves me to be away from Canada. I am planning to finish my personal work upon my getting of Citizenship.

12- 15 months or more

I have applied for citizenship in Sepetmber 2003, and haven't received acknowlgment yet. When I called to CIC customer service; they told me now waiting time is 15-20 months. Almost 6 month to wait they open your envolpe..and once you receive acknowledgment it will take 10-12 months.

Just a quick question related to the above posting.

1.Can someone leave the country and stay outside canada soon after
applying for citizenship till he get the date for written test etc.Later he comes back to write the test.Any legal problems ? Do they take any interview and interrogate for reason related to that absence ?

2.Can a principal applicant say only head of the family apply for citizenship and rest of the dependants do not apply (due to some reasons e.g they do not comply immigration condition of staying for 2-3 years (in first 5 years, but the Father complied). Any advise ?

-- Yes , you can leave canada after applying for citizenship.
