Anyway.....

On a slightly different note...here is one I made up for someone on Valentine's Day.

It's very light-hearted compared to my earlier poem.

Cute? I sure would say you are!
Hell, I would say you were delicious, yeah, I would go that far!
And have you ever seen the affect you have on me?
Notice how you make me feel? Do you know you
Drive me wild with your amazing sex appeal?
See I'm only being honest, I'm
Only being true
No other guy makes me drool quite the way you do!
I know it may sound crazy and
Maybe you might be right, but
You have this way of making me tingle with delight!
Volts of electricity shoot up my spine,
And just like Toni Braxton, you know it gets me high
Love the way you smile, your sexy tender touch
Every time you come near me, Oooh it's just too much!
Naughty but nice, that's the way you are,
Truly by far, you are my lucky star
In case you didn't know, you are my baby-boo,
No one loves you more than me
Even if they say they do!

I wrote this one when I was 17 :D

JUSTICE

The club is filled with sound of joy,
The party is in full swing,
People sing and dance and make merry,
They eat caviar, and wine they drink.

Wine glasses clinking in a spree,
The purple cigarette haze,
The chatter of a variety of moods,
The eyes do brightly blaze.

A dozen varieties of sumptuous foods,
A platter for the rich,
Oh! So many varieties of everything,
T’is difficult to decide which.

Though outside snow is falling,
Inside, warmth they enjoy,
And though they’ve paid a small fortune for the affair,
Yet with food they fashionably toy.

Outside in the snowstorm,
A mother holds her child,
Providing what little warmth she can,
Not sure if they’ll survive the night.

The child cries from the cold,
And the hunger he does feel,
When was it last, he can’t remember,
When they had a decent meal.

The child cries, and his mother comforts him,
Even though her own heart does cry,
And if her lips weren’t so numb with cold,
She’d shriek towards the sky.

What justice, O almighty lord,
Brings the world to this,
That the rich find meat boring when for the poor,
A piece of bread is bliss?

Why is it that though we all,
Are children of one soil,
That the rich may live in comfort
While the poor must starve, sweat and toil?

Let this difference end, my lord,
Let us all now blend,
Let this difference end my Lord,
Let this difference end.

I wrote these two shortly after Uncle Bush invaded Iraq

We live in very interesting times,
What tomorrow will bring, who knows?
The world as we know it will soon be changed,
The dream of peace lies in death throes.

Dark clouds gather on the horizon,
Rains that’ll melt unities so well cemented,
Peace, Freedom and Harmony stand threatened,
By leaders who are delusional, deranged, demented.

The dogs of war are baying for blood,
Battles shall be fought on every soil,
A new wave now surges through men’s veins,
But sadly it’s not blood but oil.

They say we must fight fire with fire,
They say wars bring peace, but at what price?
Such dangerous illusions can only lead to destruction,
Catastrophes the world has witnessed twice.

In these troubled times, we must pray to our gods,
That among these senseless wars and mindless clashes,
May the hope for mankind not die but be rekindled,
Like a phoenix reborn from its own ashes.

We must pray and we must strive,
So in every home may this message ring,
That freedom is not gained by attacking freedom,
But by liberating the soul that we have trapped within.

*********************************************************

In the devastated streets of Baghdad,
Among broken walls and broken hearts,
The “liberated” people of Iraq,
Suffer the aftermath of war.

They know that Saddam is gone,
And they are expected to celebrate,
But celebrate what? They wonder, life is still the same,
The daily struggle to survive is still a game,
They must play for to lose is death.

They look at the ruined city that was once great,
See the ruins of the mosque with the golden gate,
And wonder if anything is really sacred?
In this world so full of hatred.
Once water was the cause for desert war and turmoil,
Now water is plentiful and the cause is oil.

As the tired people toil to rebuild Baghdad,
They wonder who was fortunate, the ones who died?
And went to heaven or the ones who survived?
Only to suffer shock, hunger and pain,
And to shed tears for those who were slain?

Now that Saddam is gone,
The war has stopped,
No planes screech overhead and no more bombs are dropped,
And the liberated people of Iraq are once again a forgotten people,
Forgotten for all times to come,
Left in the cold rain,
Unless, one day,
Another Saddam should rise again.

One more for Bhatiaji's collection

From inside America, how five planes flew.
Such a mishap never happened in the past!
And nothing similar will happen.
Six thousand infidels died.
Bin Ladin did not do it;
the luck of the president [Saddam] did it."

another from inside Iraq:

We love you as much as a bird loves its nest when it rains.
Your gold is pure, the gold of others is copper whose engravings are false.

But fatigue and injustice are over. They remain engraved letters.
You triumphed over injustice; you will not be blamed should you beat them.

You are fastened with a bullet-belt for the one fooled by his troops.
You are the guard, you are the guard, Saddam, and we are the watchful eyes.

Just order us to proceed and repel the attacks,
just order us to proceed and repel the attacks
