Wrong analogy. Look at it like this. I have to go from Point A to Point B. There is a map available on the counter that gives complete details. There is also a man sitting there who charges Rs 10,000 and offers to read the map and tell me how to get there. I choose the second alternative.
What impression of myself do I convey?

I guess we are going round in circles.
I don't see any problem with someone who decided to use a good consultant simply to offload the paperwork and the background work to buy peace of mind.
That doesn't convey any negative impression to me.
At the same time, I don't see any problem with someone who decides to do all the legwork himself to either (1) save money or (2) avoid a consultant who screws up.
I have seen enough of both cases - the Do-It-Yourself types who tried to save themselves a few $$$ and ended up screwing their case badly and also those who hired a bad consultant who screwed up the case.
Quote:I am sorry I don't see the connection here.
A person who is so scared/confused that he does not even try to go thro the process himself is quite likely to face severe problems after coming here.

Hi sahassan
1. I need to know what document i should attach for showing language proficiency. I have not prpeared for IELTS yet. i am planning to give documentation proof for it. could you let me know about this?
Thanks,
Satish
I think the key here is "straight forward"
The application form along with the brochure are pretty well designed/written. There are no trick questions as such. There is not too much scope for interpretation.
So, if you have a "straight forward" situation, going to the consultant is more or less equal to throwing $2,000 down the drain.

Someone who needs a \"consultant\" to immigrate should NOT immigrate!!
